QR Code Generator

Create a QR code from text, a URL, or Wi-Fi login details in your browser. Download PNG or SVG. Nothing is uploaded.

Runs in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded

Enter text or a URL to generate a QR code.

Encoding runs in your browser. Phones read URL and Wi-Fi codes natively; keep contrast high and leave a quiet zone if you print the code. Nothing is uploaded.

A QR code that never leaves the browser

QR codes are just a compact way to put a URL, a sentence, or a Wi-Fi login on a poster, slide, or packaging. Most generators send the payload to a server to draw the image. This one encodes locally, so a guest-network password or a draft link never leaves the device.

Pick Text for any string, URL to add https:// when you omit a scheme, or Wi-Fi to emit the WIFI:T:WPA;S:…;P:…;; payload that iPhone and Android cameras open as a join prompt. mailto:, tel:, and sms: work if you type the full scheme in the URL box.

Error correction (L/M/Q/H) is spare modules that let a scuffed print still scan. M is enough on a bright screen. Use H if you will print small, laminate, or drop a logo in the centre — the grid gets denser, so print larger.

Download PNG at 128–1024 px for chat and slides. Download SVG when the code will be printed or scaled in a layout tool. Keep dark modules on a light background and leave a quiet zone; low contrast is the usual reason a phone camera shrugs.

Need a short link on the same poster? Pair this with the URL Shortener, then encode the short URL here so the printed code stays simple. Encoding and download stay on-device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the text or Wi-Fi password uploaded?

No. The QR code is drawn in your browser with the Canvas API. The payload never leaves the device, so a Wi-Fi password or private URL is not sent to a server.

What can I encode?

Plain text, a URL (https is added if you omit the scheme), or a Wi-Fi login using the WIFI:T:...;S:...;P:...;; format that iOS and Android camera apps understand. mailto:, tel:, and sms: URLs also work if you type them in the URL box.

What does error correction do?

Higher levels (Q, H) add redundant modules so a scratched or partially covered print can still scan. The trade-off is a denser code. M (15%) is a good default for screens; use H if you will print the code small or overlay a logo.

How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the SSID, pick WPA/WPA2 (or Open), and type the password. A guest scans the code and joins without typing. Special characters in the SSID or password are escaped automatically.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is a bitmap at the size you pick — fine for slides, chat, and social posts. SVG is a vector that stays sharp on a poster or business card. Download both if you are not sure.

Why will a phone not scan it?

Keep strong contrast (dark modules on a light background), leave a quiet zone around the code, and do not shrink a dense payload below about 2 cm on paper. Very long text needs a larger print or a lower error-correction level.
