PlayTools

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information PlayTools (accessible at playtools.app) collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

All calculations, conversions, and text inputs entered into any tool on this site are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We do not transmit, store, or log any values you type into our tools. Your financial figures, health data, text content, and any other inputs never leave your device. The few exceptions — tools that must contact an online service to work — are listed in section 7.

2. Information We May Collect

Like most websites, our web server may automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This information is used solely for operating and improving the site and is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. If you submit the contact form, we also receive the name, email address, subject, and message you send, solely so we can reply. We do not use this information for marketing.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

PlayTools does not set advertising cookies of its own. We use your browser's local storage to remember your language and light/dark theme preference and, if you use the URL Shortener, your last 20 short links; session storage holds a flag that stops analytics events being counted twice. None of this is sent to us. Google Analytics sets first-party analytics cookies (see section 5), and Google AdSense may set third-party cookies (see section 4). You can control cookies through your browser settings or opt out of interest-based advertising at adssettings.google.com.

4. Google AdSense

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com). For more information about how Google uses data, please see google.com/policies/privacy/partners.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — for example, which tools are popular and which pages load slowly. It collects pseudonymous data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address), device and browser type, and referring site. It never receives the values you type into our tools. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

6. Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage is denied by default using Google Consent Mode v2 until you make a choice in the consent message provided by a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Privacy settings" link in the site footer, or by clearing this site's cookies.

7. Tools That Use Online Services

A few tools need an online service to work and send only what is necessary. Currency Converter: only the two currency codes are sent to our server, which fetches reference rates from the Frankfurter API (European Central Bank data) and caches them for up to one hour — your amounts are never sent. URL Shortener: the URL you submit is passed through our server to the shortening service you choose (TinyURL, is.gd, or CleanURI), which stores it to create the short link, so do not shorten URLs that contain private information. Contact form: your message is delivered to our support mailbox by an email delivery provider and is not stored in a database on our servers.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. The only personal data we hold directly is the correspondence you send us, which we keep only as long as needed to handle your request. To exercise these rights, email support@playtools.app. For data processed by Google, use the controls at adssettings.google.com and myaccount.google.com.

9. Third-Party Links

Some tools or pages on this site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

10. Children's Privacy

PlayTools is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at support@playtools.app.
